Among the technologies we employ to build automated systems for our customers are:
Vision Systems
Using a combination of high resolution color cameras and powerful software algorithms we develop product inspection systems for manufacturing assembly lines.
Part detection allows the system to determine that the product has all required components.
Color determination will ensure that the right color part is shipped. We are able to consistently produce some very fine color analyses to make certain that exactly the correct colored part is shipped.
We combine the image analysis algorithms from Matrox Imaging with digital camera input - e.g. Basler Vision Technologies, Kodak Digital Sciences, etc.
Image analysis from Matrox Imaging can be combined with a number of camera products e.g. Basler, Kodak, etc.
Visual Basic
We use Visual Basic as the main front-end development tool for Client/Server software development. The Visual Basic language is used throughout the Microsoft family of products from Visual Basic and Access to the suite of programs in Microsoft Office and tools for Internet development. We use Visual Basic as a front-end development tool to access data contained in: native .DBF files for Clipper and FoxPro, client/server .DBF files enhanced by the Advantage xBase Server, the JET database (as found in Access), and Microsoft SQL Server. Systems developed include:
- project management system for a large financial institution
- a client/server shop floor control system
- sophisticated data extractions from large accounting data files
- a labour reporting and overtime control system.
SQL Server
Strawberry Computing believes the combination of Visual Basic as the front-end user interface to a SQL Server back-end database is an excellent combination of technology and price. Both products have a strong future. By having SQL Server as a back-end database it provides a reliable, high performance relational database with access via SQL from a Visual Basic front-end.
Oracle
- Created and configured databases
- Set up users
- Data transfer between Oracle and Access, FoxPro, Test files
- web-based front end to Oracle 8i database
- web reporting of Oracle data
- client/server applications using Oracle 8i
Clipper/FoxPro
Clipper/FoxPro are compilers with which we have developed many applications. Strawberry Computing continues to provide support and enhancements for a number of Clipper/FoxPro applications.
Applications developed in Clipper/FoxPro include:
- an inventory storage and retrieval system
- an R.F. (Radio Frequency) controlled inventory storage and retrieval system
- a Quotation System with integrated Faxing
- an Asset Management System for a large computer company
- a Preventive Maintenance System for a large oil and gas company
- a Disaster Support system for several manufacturing plants
In addition, we are supporting a large Clipper-based Purchasing and Payments System for a major financial institution.
Access
We use the Microsoft Access environment to develop a wide variety of customer applications which include:
- an Asset Management System for a large computer company using bar coding
- a Problem Reporting and Resolution System
- a Defect Tracking System for a large automotive supplier
- a Quality Alert System for a manufacturing company
- a Sales Incentive System for a supplies distributor
We are also supporting a complete Access based manufacturing system.
Crystal Reports
Pocket PC
More than a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) like the Palm products, the PocketPC is a powerful personal computer held in your hand.
Systems developed on the PockerPC can access a self-contained database or link to the enterprise network.
